Filling
Tooth filling is the removal of caries-damaged tissue from the tooth and filling the resulting empty cavity with composite material (a filling).
Tooth filling is the removal of caries-damaged tissue from the tooth and filling the resulting empty cavity with composite material (a filling).
Our main goal is your health, the highest quality, a strong and long-lasting filling result, and maximum attention from the dentist to every patient.
Caries is damage to the tooth tissue, where healthy tooth tissue is dissolved by acids produced by oral bacteria.
Acids are released as a by-product of bacterial metabolism when bacteria feed on carbohydrates present in the mouth. That is why sweets and unremoved plaque are an excellent breeding ground for bacteria to multiply and release acids that dissolve tooth tissue, forming caries (a cavity) in the tooth.
If caries is not treated in time, it spreads until it reaches the nerve inside the tooth. Pain is then felt and root canal (nerve) treatment becomes necessary — regular tooth filling is no longer sufficient.
Can I eat right after the filling?
If anaesthesia was used, it is recommended to wait until it wears off so that you do not accidentally bite the inside of your mouth. Otherwise, you can eat.
How long does filling one tooth take?
Depending on each individual situation — the condition of the tooth and the location of the cavity — the procedure may take from 20 to 90 minutes per tooth.
What fillings are used at our clinic?
At Precize clinic, we use the highest-quality composite fillings available on the market, known for their exceptional longevity, strength and aesthetics.
How long do fillings last?
On average, fillings can last 5 years or longer. This depends on dental care and the size of the filling. The larger the filling, the higher the risk of it cracking. For particularly large defects, prosthetic restoration with an onlay/crown is recommended for a longer-lasting result.
